JVC Taiyo Yuden 52x Watershield CD-R has been designed to provide a high quality look and finish.  Unlike normal CD printable media which has a dull finish and is not water resistant and prone to smudges, Watershield is water resistant, scratch resistant, and features a glossy finish. Watershield blank media is the best way to ensure your discs stay protected from harsh everyday elements. Manufactured by JVC, Watershield discs repel water and protect from wear and scratches.

Overview

Watershield CD-R hub-printable media features the very same qualities as JVC's original discs. With the world's widest record and playback compatibility, you're assured a great disc, delivered perfectly every time. Watershield media also writes all forms of audio and data, uses ISO 14001 certified manufacturing, has zero wave distortion, lowest jitter levels and lowest bluer (E12 & E22) error rate in the industry.

History of printable media

Prior to invention of Watershield media jointly developed between Taiyo Yuden and Epson, CD-R printable discs had all sorts of issues:

• Were not full surface
• Highly prone to smudges
• Were dull to look at and if you needed a glossy finish you needed to use a lacquer

Media compatibility

JVC Watershield media is compatible with the following inkjet printers from Epson, Rimage, Primera, Microboards, R-Quest & Verity Systems, although for the Epson PP-100 provides the best results as it was developed by Epson and Taiyo Yuden for use with the specific ink pigments Epson developed for the PP-100.

Quality

Taiyo Yuden JVC discs have a reputation for having the lowest error rates in the industry and offer a 100 year media life against defects.  The Watershield media is suitable for archiving, media distribution, audio and broadcast recording and personal use of treasured digital data.

Branding

The JVC production plant was purchased by Taiyo Yuden in 2010 and all Taiyo Yuden media has been re branded JVC, this is the name for all future products.
